Up in the Clouds

I'm thinking of going on a trip.
Where?
Maybe Egypt.
I could fly high over the pyramids,
And stand at the top like the pharaohs did.
I think the pharaohs were buried down below.
Oh, I didn't know.
Ok. I could go to Paris and see the Eiffel Tower.
Or sneak around the city like Jack Bauer.
Which Jack Bauer? The Fictional FBI Agent or the Tour de France bicyclist?
Ok, fine! I get the gist.
I'll just fly over my mom's house shaking my fist.
Why?
I asked for a hug and a kiss, and she put me on a waiting list!

Chasing Down the Truth

Ok, I admit I MAY have eaten his food.
And MAYBE I MAY have been a little rude.
But that's no reason for him to be in such a mood!
I'm complicated, and very misunderstood.
And I really don't like to be pursued.
Ok ok!! My respect for others has been renewed!
I will no longer steal other people's food!

Just Another Night Out Under the Stars

Last night was cold and I'm glad you were here.
I would have been lonely if it was just me and the deer.
But maybe next time we can bring some tents?
The floor in here is bumpy and my back now has dents.
And maybe some food and a sleeping bag too.
I'm a little hungry and my lips are cold and blue.
Oh and next time I'll bring marshmallows and hot hot chocolate.
We can tell stories and secrets we'd rather forget.
And then fall asleep watching all the twinkling stars in the sky,
And the cool aliens quickly flying by.

Friday's the Last Day

This week has felt like a long bumpy road.
Nothing I'm doing feels like gold.
And the workday feels longer, or so I'm told.
But I'll put my exhaustion on hold
And wait for Saturday to unfold.
Tomorrow I'll feel younger than old,
And out in the sun, I'll feel care free and bold.
I'll run to the market where treats are sold,
And hang with my kiddos on that bench, where there's mold.

Trying to Be Neighborly

I admit that I don't always want to talk to you.
I'm really sorry, I know that makes you blue.
It's nothing about you and more about me,
I'm just annoyed by silly stories.
I know I should listen and I'm sure they entertain,
But I'd rather be playing with my Great Dane.
We could play a game or watch some football,
Or sit outside saying nothing at all.
But chatting and gossiping, and telling a joke,
Just isn't for me, I'm a pretty simple bloke.
I hope you forgive me, once you've been mad for a bit,
And decide to come over to sit.
Because I value your company and would miss your visit.

The Alien Pasttime

I was going to stay home and make bluuh, but no one's there to eat it so what the point.
I'll come over, are we going to play zizzenplierishtiloyer?
We could, but half the letters are missing.
That eliminates all but 10% of all words.
I know. Chirades?
Excellent!

Game Play
There is a game that we play that requires deep thought,
You have to pay attention or you won't know what you've got.
There's a leader at the front, and a speller in the end.
Make sure you are cautious and don't play with your friend.
You want to stack all the cards and pick two at a time,
And then flip them over, all in a line.
And at the end, if the words line up just write,
You will win the game and party all night.

[Ok and someone invent this game........now!]

Holding the Team Together

I think I hurt my back. Can't move.
Oh well, time to replace you I guess.

My Better Half
I was hurt and I was aching,
Even while my hands were shaking,
There was no mistaking,
The chance I was taking.

I could fall and be hurt,
Land face down in the dirt.
I was on high alert,
But felt the need to assert

"I'm fine!"
What a line.
Between one and ten, my pain was a nine.
I laid back down and began to whine.

But my bestie took pity on me,
They helped me up on three,
And helped me home carefully.

I lay in bed for three days,
And I was sad watching football play,
Until finally my back was okay.
And I thankfully stretched and moved on my way.

My bestie I must say,
Is the hero today.

This Little Kitty...

I'm just one little kitty
I'm really quite small,
Some think I'm too pretty,
Like a cute little doll.

But I'm pretty ferocious,
Just you wait and see.
I howl all night,
And in the darkness...I can see.

I'll creep up on you,
And you won't see a thing.
Then I'll leap on your back,
And you'll scream "What is that thing!!!"

And then I'll laugh and I'll laugh,
And laugh some more.
I'll laugh so hard,
I'll fall on the floor.

Because scaring you is hilarious.
It's really the best.
You're my best friend.
And I love you more than the rest.

Lining up for Fun

When there's a show in town,
Word gets around.
The people come from far,
In boats and by car.
They line up in droves,
Some cooking food on stoves.
Just to wait for a chance,
To see the show and dance.
It's an event not to be missed,
The town just can't resist.
So put on your dancing shoes,
Come with us and let loose.
We'll meet you in the back,
Next to the snack shack.
And we'll dance the night away,
'Cause this is crochet valley and that's how we play.

Meeting New Friends

Well, hello there. You're new in town aren't you?
Not new, just been sleeping.
Before winter?
Yeah, lot's of good holiday cooking to be had in winter.
Ahhh, I totally agree.

Finding Things in Common
Doughnuts, bagels, muffins and scones,
Eating with friends, is better than eating alone.

Noodles, pasta, ziti and ramen,
It's great when friends have food in common.

For late trips to the coffee shop,
Or morning tea with lemon drops.
I love my friends who make me stop,
For ice cream and soda pop.

So when you have no cheese to dice,
And your crackers have been eaten by mice,
Just remember..
Pizza tastes twice as nice,
With a friend to share a slice.

Hiding Out

Work couldn't' have been THAT bad.
Yes, yes it was.

When Work Gets You Down
There's a little something that I say,
On a day like today.
When nothing goes your way,
And you're just hoping for one ray.
A ray of happy, a ray of cheer,
Something to get you into gear.
And here it is, so just you listen,
This little gem will get you out of prison.
"I feel sick." "I have a cough." "I feel like my head is falling off."
"I feel dizzy." "I'm so sorry I threw up on Lizzy!"

You can thank me tomorrow, unless you're too busy.

Work Meeting

It was a cool crisp day the morning of the weekly company meeting. Darryl was upset about something, everyone could sense his annoyance and it was make them antsy to get a away. Finally Nina showed up and Darryl got everyone's attention by waving his arm.

"Mike, you spilled soap all over the south lawn, you need to go out there with a mop and clean it up. Deer are getting sick." Everyone looked to Mike who was busy looking very attentively at his foot.

Nina bravely asked "What were you doing with soap all the way out there?"

Sighing, "I was cleaning the trees," Mike shrugged his shoulders looking let down.

When Work Goes Awry
So the coffee came out too strong,
And you made your breakfast all wrong.
You can add more milk or that fake stuff, Silk.
And then it'll be better, so go grab your sweater and let go!

So the car broke down and now you've got a frown
Don't feel too bad, don't worry why,
Just keep going, it's good to just try.

When the work overflows and outside it snows,
Be glad your inside, happily fed and dried.
The most you can say is you tried, and that's all you need says I.

So chase the work as you smirk,
Hide that fax on Max,
And laugh at your boss's next gaff.
Because work can be rough, unless you find humor in this stuff.

A New Week, A New Drama

The party was fun.
Yeah! It was wonderful.
So how's the new place?
It's great, but the neighborhood is seedy.

[BaBoom Ching!....just wait for it, my jokes take a few minutes :P]

New Homes

It takes a few days,
But the pots and pans will be put away.
The clothes all cleared,
Your new home will be revealed.
With high ceilings,
And no paint pealing,
You'll be overjoyed at the revealing.
A purchasing well worth the dealing.
So sing loud and proud,
And invite a crowd,
To celebrate out loud.
This house so nice, you are so wowed.

Crochet House Party

There's a party going on,
And we're dancing to this song,
Wave your hands like it's all wrong,
And help me dance to this song.

oh ohoh oh ohoh

There's some fun to be had,
At this party - it's so bad,
Swing your hips like your glad,
And party 'cause it's rad.

oh ohoh oh ohoh

Jump it!
Stomp it!
Go, go go go
Go, go go go

There's a party at this house,
So I'm wearing my silky blouse.
Gonna swing here and there,
And have some without a care.

Oh ohoh Oh ohoh

Party!

Getting Ready

I'm getting ready to have a surprise,
It's a house warming party so I need to close my eyes.
Most people think I'm silly 'cause I've seen my house - It's so pretty!!
But I don't care, I'm just happy I'm no longer in the city.
I'm going to have canapes, crepes, and seeds,
Fun decorations like streamers and beads.
And everyone's going to come to surprise me with their work,
And I'm going to laugh and cry, and kind of go berserk.
It's just so nice to feel so loved,
So I guess I can't poop on their houses while I'm flying up above.

Strength in Numbers

I'm counting to ten my friends! So find your zen before we begin.
Ten is when we begin, begin to be comedians.

We'll joke and kid and hopefully win our bid, for that gig in Madrid.
Sadness I forbid! We must be funny for the kids.

That's it Paul, give it your all. With your humor we will not fall.
Me? I'll stand tall, and on my head balance a ball. And as the crowd calls, I'll jump down and crawl.

Ben, you will begin the fun when, you run as fast as you can,
and then, bend to the left before you intend and fall over in the end.

And the laughter will ascend and we'll win!

Feeling a bit Fluffy

I really need to get a haircut, I feel like I'm in a hairdo rut. I need to follow my gut, and just get it all cut.

I agree. Sorry! It's just that, oh gosh Sally. It's just too long if you ask me.

No, no. I totally agree. This poofy 'do just isn't me.
You could get a mohawk, or do-rock, or that think they do with a sock.

A sock is what they use my hair to make, I don't want my 'do to look fake.

You'll look great whatever you do. You're the best, and we all love you.

Awwww! I love you too.

Struggling Through Together

I'm glad he's gone.
Yeah me too.

There are three of us standing,
None of us commanding,
All of us expanding,
To meet this high peak.

We work as a team,
We do what we mean,
We are always quite clean,
We're family.

There's a peak we must reach,
And we won't be too meek,
We'll fight for a week!
If it gets us to the top.

And you can try too,
Just eat lots of strew,
And be nice to your crew,
And they'll be nice to you.

Too true.

Don't Be Bossy

Hey! Hey, Muriel!
You're moving like a turtle.
Hey Jack,
You're dragging like rocks in a sack.
Hey, Hey Ben,
Just get it over then.

Guess what Bob!
Bossing us is NOT YOUR JOB!

Being Bossy
Being Bossy,
Isn't saucy.
It's not so glossy,
To push around your posse.
So be nice,
And think twice,
Before giving mean advice.

There's A Tree Now

A new tree I see,
It's very pretty.
So many branches but no leaves,
A local favorite I believe.
Or is it just fall?
And there are no leaves at all.
Are the other trees bare?
If not, they can share.
So here's why I stopped by,
I was looking pie.
Would you have a slice to share?
If not, I may despair.
Julie has a bit?
Great, I'll go visit.
Ta ta for now,
Please excuse my while I bow.

Tuesday is NOT Bluesday

Homework done?
Yup yup. I've it won.

Reading over?
Of course! I'm no pushover

Ok then, let's play.
I was hoping there was still time today.

One, two, three, four,
Eat all the cookies then ask for more.
Five, six, seven, eight,
Run back fast, don't be late.
Let's go,
Be great!

Cookies
When cookies are the prize, you must look alive. You've got to eat them all, got to survive.
So bring you cheer, and you'll persevere. You'll be eating cookies today and all year.
