Beeing In Charge

I'm on top of it all!
Too big to fall,
I'll rule forever, I'll rule them all!

I'm at the apex of the jungle,
I seriously cannot fumble.
Now worship me with jumps and tumbles!

Flitter and fly,
Cheer as you go by,
And yes, slap me high five.
It's so great being ruler of this hive.

Planning Takes Forethought

Father's day's coming up, are you getting anything special for your dad?
It's like 3 weeks away. I was gonna forget about it for 3 more weeks and then rush around all harried before giving up and getting him a discount card that's actually a birthday card.
Good thing his birthday is on Father's day huh?
Totally

Planning Takes Forethought
This is what I say
Leave it alone, don't do it today.
There's fun to get done,
Not plans to make.
Don't worry so much,
Don't give, just take

It won't make you any friends,
But who cares in the end.
So they won't get you a present in return
You'll ......um. Hang on.

I won't get a present in return?

Get a gift for everyone,
And then strangers when you're done.
Celebrate every holiday,
And never a birthday betray.

It's important to think of others,
They're all like sisters and brothers.
And it's nice to show you care,
Because getting older past 25 just isn't fair.

Who's Watching Who

Who is watching who at this crochet zoo?
Your brother is being bad and so are you!
I've never seen such a mess as in your room,
If you do not clean it now, it will be your doom.
I am not to be ignored!
I know where the treats are stored.
Making me angry is not something you can afford.

Who is watching who at this crazy town cafe?
You've been making a mess and doing it all day!
The clothes are in piles, the toys strewn about,
You promised you'd clean it, but that I doubt.
I am not to be ignored!
So stop looking so bored.
Phone privileges will not be restored.

Who is watching who? Is blue watching blue?
I'm trying to remember your good deeds, but there are few.
You are mean to your sister, mean to the cat.
Honestly sometimes I wonder where your head is at.
Kiss your sister, say sorry to the cat,
Clean your room or that is that.
I'll take away your toys, give your phones away,
I'll make you write an essay about your day.
Trust me boys, I don't play.

Summer Crochet Trouble

Mom, I swear,
I was not playing with those dogs over there.
You can trust me, don't you know,
I would never go where you say not to go.

Yesterday? No I stayed home.
I swear I didn't go out and roam.
Mrs. Seever saw me? You don't say.
Well, I guess now I'm not allowed to go out and play?

Yup two weeks sounds fair,
I guess I shouldn't play pranks on a dare.
I'll be good from now on, I swear.

One Sunny Day

On a sunny day, one Monday in May
My love, so sweet, went away.
They were doing good, as all good people would.
But the good was not enough,
And missing them is so tough.
But each year on this day,
I can push my sadness away,
Because we all remember together, this warm day in May.

Tiptoeing Not Growing

This one is for Mary, she's the nicest little fairy.
One for my mom, she's the best! I mean, come on!
Blue is for Stu and will serve as a nice thank you,
And another for my mom, 'cause she's seriously the bomb.

I'm having a party in a few days, because my mom said OK.
Mary is bringing snacks, because she works at a food shack
And Stu is bringing the fun, because he knows just were its begun.
So here's my thanks to them, for being such good friends (and moms).

I hope that we have fun, I hope that the party is never done.
I hope that there are hot dogs, and not slimy green frogs.
I hope that there are chips, and that fancy onion dip.
Oh and guacamole, sitting in a bowl on a clean white doily.

Just a few days to go, one, two, oh boy,
I hope my excitement doesn't annoy,
or suck away the joy,
and scare away poor Roy.

A Crochet Bee Mystery

I know I left them here! Just give them back I say.
Seriously, bee, leave me be, I do not want to play.

A flower here a flower there, you think it's just silliness,
But those flowers are my everything, so stop your chilliness.
One was red and was for Fred,
Another white as snow,
A third so blue and pure,
But now gone, I should just turn and go.
I thought you were my friend! And thoughtful to the end,
But you've taken what's mine, and I can't go back in time,
So now must collect them all over again.

Listen bee, I have not seen your blooms or your sanity,
But I can assure you, the thief isn't me.

Fine, sorry.

Haha! I tricked you silly, it was me.
I saw them lying there and I set them free,
I threw them into the wind you see,
Now they're off on an adventure across the sea. Yipee!

Sometimes, you're very annoying Mr. Key.

Crochet Ice Cream Parlor Horror Stories

I was sitting by the side lines,
Minding my own time,
Making up my own mind,
When they walked up to me.

I was trying to pick,
My mind wouldn't work quick
All the clock did was tick,
But did they have to walk up to me?

I wasn't ready I said,
Couldn't settle in my head
Chocolate or Mint Chip,
Single serve or double dip,
Someone cut me quick!

I settled on Cherry,
I wish I'd gotten Strawberry.
But there's always next time I said,
And next time I'll plan ahead.

Crocheting On My Own

Surrounded by my friends, the girls,
Twirling 'til the word swirls.
Laughing while the day unfurls
Giggling 'til my toes curl.

Yup, a good weekend.

Friday Night Owl Bash

Bringing the drinks was never in question,
It was what will I make, a sugary confection?
It needed to bubble, it needed to boil,
It needed to scare away all the owl eating trolls.
I'm not kidding! It's true,
They sneak in when you least expect them too.
That and sugary drinks a super divine.
If I had my way, they'd all be mind.
In any case, it's time to party,
Get your dancing shoes on! Don't be tardy.

Crochet Meet and Greet

Two days till the weekend.
Sweet.
I sure love the weekend.
Me too.
I wish it was always the weekend.
Ditto.
Hm, that really makes you sad doesn't it.
What?
That it's not the weekend.
yup.

Weekend
Oh weekend, sweet weekend.

Why are you so far away?

Oh weekend, sweet weekend.
Why don't you arrive early, how about today?

Oh weekend, I miss you.
I really have to say.

You're the best days of the week,
And the only time I play.

Oh weekend, sweet weekend.
I really wish you'd stay.

No Party for Red

The party was cancelled, or so they said.
"It's supposed to rain!" they said to poor Red.
Rain, rain, what a wretched thing.
I was going to go play, now I'm just headed to bed.

Maybe next time, maybe next year.
Why do storm clouds have to travel so near?
There were going to be games and those kinds of things,
But alas no party, because a storm was near, we cancelled out of fear?

Ok fine, I'll plan a party in the rain and it'll fun all the same.
I'm not buckling now, not giving up ground.
We're gonna have fun if I have to chase it down like a hound.
Come along friends, neighbors, and pals, bring games and toys and anything else you've found.
We're having a shin dig, here in the rain, and it's going to be awesome, not silly or tame.
Because we spend the day in bed, that would really be a shame.

A Purrrrfect Day

It was sunny outside and the wind was blowing.
I didn't know what would happen, but I sure got going.
I was headed for adventure, looking for fun.
I was looking for trouble, I was on the run.
It was exciting and new being out there alone.
I threw out all my electronics, even my phone.
I stared into the fire and howled at the moon.
I was a kitty possessed! That's when I knew I was doomed.
It's not natural for a kitty to be out all alone.
There's no one to snuggle, I no longer wanted to roam.
I wanted to be with you, happy and at home.
I was homesick, I admitted with a grown.

Picking up my bag, putting out the fire,
I headed back out of the woods, past some old tires.
I took a shortcut by the river, and ran over a hill.
And when I saw home, my heart stood still.
Never again have I roamed,
Never again will I leave home,
I know where I belong,
And I think you knew all along.

Momma's Going to Hug You

In a day, maybe two,
Mommas' going to hug you.
She's pretty sneaky, so watch your back.
When you least expect it, that's when she'll attack.
She'll start with a bear hug, than switch to a squeeze.
She'll hug you so hard, you'll go weak in the knees.
It's a good thing!
Momma loves you, you should be giving her bling.

Momma's love you no matter what,
They fight for you, no matter the but.
Mom's feed you first, and love you all the time.
Give a little back, write her a poem that rhymes.

Love you Mom!!

Two by Air, Don't Stare

Jessica knew they'd stare,
Knew they whisper, glance, and yes, glare.
But what else was she to do?
One was sick, another sad,
If she let them down, they'd just be bad.

It was better this way,
For her and them.
Better out of trouble and away from evil intentioned friends.
She'd say sorry tomorrow.
Or so she swore,
But she was crossing her fingers, and she lied even more!

A nice neighbor happened by, noticed, and said Oh, my.
When asked she deflected,
And her lies were not detected.
And so it went each day for a week.
Until to dad, the baby owls did seek.

Help us! They cried.
And whimpered so, leaving dad with only one way to go.
And so, each day from work he'd come,
To help his wife walk his two sons.

Crochet Octopus Occasion

Baby blue, this is your Uncle Bing.
Hi Bing!
Uncle Bing works at the aquarium as an underwater thing.
Underwater thing? That has a nice ring. It's nice to meet you Bing! :)
And you too, Baby Blue. Now what do you say about a movie? Just us two.
Ooh, there's a movie out I want to see, it's new.
Well then, that's what we'll do!
Bring him back by two!

I Love the Movies
The lights so bright,
The dark of night.
A bag of popcorn in hand,
An action movie, a hero's last stand.
Laughter abounds, when I Love Lucy plays in town.
A Rocky Horror, a monster in the foyer.
A shout from the back,
A man runs out for a snack.
Romance for love, comedy without the kid gloves
I love to be scared, but need to be prepared.
A friend makes you brave, since suspense is what I crave.
It's chaos to leave,
The sun a happy reprieve.
Till next I return, I've got time to burn.

Crochet Pony Love Story

Hey Earl,
Hey Bud.

You wouldn't believe what happened to me!

I was sitting by the bay, just hanging out. When from the far left I heard a very loud shout.
There was a pretty green pony sitting all alone, I wondered over and she asked to go home.
I guess she'd been there for a time or two and she was starting to feel awfully blue.
I walked her back to the pasture and what did she do!? She kissed me on the nose, and oh my, my heart flew.
Now I'm flustered and not happy one bit, how am I to impress her, when she's put me in such a fit.
My legs are all wobbly. My heart a racing bee, buzzing here and there, and leaving me shaking like a tree.
Give me some words of advice old friend, help my mind to mend.

Give her some flowers, tell her she's swell. Take her back to the bay to listen to the bell.
Listen to her talk and tell her some tales, and soon enough, your love will set sail.

An Ant Tale

There was so much pie,
I felt so alive.
I shared with you
And then I knew.

We were one and the same.
You knew my name.
We both liked pie.
Our expectations were sky high.

I wish I'd stayed,
To have some marmalade,
But I needed to go,
To get some cookie dough.

But don't worry my friend!
I'll see you there again.
Next to the pie,
I'll be that guy saying Hi!

A Party Outside

F is for fun, like fun in the sun. You can talk all day and feel like you won.
U is for you, my best friends, Mike and Stu. You like me just as I am, no matter what I do.
N is for never as in never will I whine. It's silly to whine, when we can have fun all the time.

So go out today and have a little fun, and I bet you'll find that it's pretty nice in the sun.
