Spider Hat

Eek! It's a Spider Hat

I know you guys were starting to think I wouldn't get this one posted right!? Well, I admit it took a LOT longer to get this guy done, but I think he looks awfully cute. This is a bad picture though, in actuality the entire hat is black (not gray like it appears). So it'll look really cool on Halloween.

And not to dissapoint I decided to throw in two other pictures of special orders I completed this week.

I usually make Kitties in multicolor yarn, but this green kitty looks pretty cute. It has ear flaps to keep ears warm and a neck tie.I don't have this one up on my Etsy site just yet, but am thinking adding it soon.

This cute apple hat was totally different from anything I'd done before, but I do love a challenge. See the cute little worm on the top of the apple. I was having a Zen moment with Sesame Street when I thought of it.

What have you guys been up to this week? Any fun new projects? Are you all decked out for Halloween? I want to hear all about it!

Festivals, Craftshows and Fun Fun Fun!

Festivals, Craftshows and Fun Fun Fun!

Good Morning fellow crafters! As I do love a good festival I thought I'd throw out a few plugs for local events happening around VA. First is the Haymarket, VA Octoberfest on October 22, 2011. There's nothing better than people watching on Octoberfest. Girls in dirndls, boys lederhosen and everyone dancing the polka - now THAT's entertainment!

To find out more go to http://www.townofhaymarket.org/Oktoberfest.php

"Spend The Day in Haymarket" in cooperation with the Town of Haymarket presents:

Oktoberfest 8
October 22, 2011
12:00 Noon - 4:00pm
(rain date October 23, 2011)

Second is an event that I will be hosting a booth at. The November 5, 2011 Joyful Noise Holiday Basaar and Bakeshop. This is a fundraiser for the Hammond Foundation's College Scholarship program and includes a lot of fun activities, hot food, and of course, CRAFTERS!

If you go to either of these, please share your feedback and spread the word!

The 2011 Fairfax Fall Festival

Thanks to all my supporters and friends who came out to see me this past weekend at the Fairfax Fall Festival. It was a beautiful day with lots of great crafts to see. I myself bought several bags of spiced nuts (pumpkin pecans and garlic pistachios, yum!). Now I'm on the hunt for another show for this year. I was waited listed for my first pick and would love a second option so if anyone knows of one let  me know! :)

Now that winter has started to roll in and the leaves have begun changing color I find my creative juices pumping and my need to try new things growing stronger. In celebration on the changing of the seasons I thought it would be fun to get a bit creative. So each week I'll post my week's idea and then everyone can post pics on my Facebook page of their creative interpretation. I received a lot of great recommendations at the show from some creative people so I have a whole arsenal of ideas.

October being the month of ghosts and goblins I think we'll go with a spooky theme all month. This week we'll be honoring the mighty Spider!

So crack out the yarn and make your best hat, tea cozy, sweater, scarf, mittens, skirt, hand towel, whatever! with the theme of the SPIDER in mind.

I'll post the best submissions on my page with a personal shout out to each crafter.

Remember to post pics on my Facebook page and happy crafting!
